TUTORING
When should you get a tutor?
Before deciding to spend money on a tutor, consider the importance of good grades and your (your child's) ability to receive those grades. In the case of a child, be sure the child is on board with the plan in order to get the most benefit from the time and money spent on a tutor.
The best time to get a tutor is when a problem first becomes evident. Once trouble begins, it can easily snowball. The earlier help is given, the faster the student can get on with learning. By focusing on whichever area is the root cause of the poor grades, you will often see improvement after a short period of time.
Students can receive assistance in a variety of subject areas with:
& homework
& challenging concepts or projects
& review of concepts that they have struggled with in previous terms
& preparation for the current term
& test taking strategies
